Ex Royal New Zealand Navy Decommissioned Inshore Patrol Craft |

AUCKLAND SHIPBROKERS LIMITED as sole contracted brokers to the Royal New Zealand Navy is proud to present the last opportunity to own this piece of recent New Zealand Naval history. After the successful sale of all four near sister vessels, we can now advise that the last ship of the Moa class Inshore Patrol Craft, MV Kahu, is to be decommissioned from active service in late October 2009 and Auckland Shipbrokers Limited have been instructed to offer this vessel for sale by public tender. A unique opportunity is offered to purchase this former Inshore Patrol Craft presented in excellent condition typical of the RNZN's high standards. With recent significant upgrades, MV Kahu is arguably the best of all the IPCs of her class. The Inshore Patrol Craft have completed essential service for 31 years in and around the New Zealand coast providing patrol, search and rescue and training roles and have been the principle surveillance vessels and guardians of this countries inshore waters. The arrival of the new “Protector Class” inshore patrol vessels left the current fleet surplus to requirement and MV Kahu is the last vessel scheduled for sale.
Though originally designed as Inshore Patrol Craft these “Moa Class” vessels are suitable for a number of different roles with sister vessels proving successful operating in both commercial and private operations.
Suggested uses are: Expedition Yacht • Various Tourist Ventures • Inter Island Cargo/Passenger Ship Diving Tender • Supply Vessel/Tender • Research Ship • Remote Location Floating Accommodation
